» Do you have a few hours per week to help your local
Carers’ Centre?
We are always on the look out for volunteers to support the Centre and its projects, particularly the Carers’ Access to Health project. Whether you fancy working in the office, joining a committee or getting out and about and working with the community we have something to suit everybody!
The Carers Centre works closely with the Volunteer Centre West Lancashire. The Volunteer Centre recruits, interviews and places volunteers in opportunities of their choice, plus support is offered to volunteer involving organisations by promoting good practice, advising on roles and responsibilities, how to retain volunteers and by disseminating volunteer orientated policies.
Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, develop skills old and new and simply remain active! No matter how many hours you have to spare, you will be offered the opportunity to put your time to good use and make a difference to the community.
The Carers’ Centre is looking for volunteers to help older people with:
- Attending GP appointments
- Visiting at home to offer company
- Attend hospital visits
- Short trips away from home by car or taxi
- Preparation of light meals
We are also interested in recruiting volunteers for administrative work and promotional events.
