• Peace of Mind for Carers
» A New, Free Emergency Planning Service for Carers in West Lancashire
- Who would be there for the person you care for if something unexpected was to happen to you as their carer?
- Do you sometimes think: What if I was delayed getting home through no fault of my own or even worse, what if I was suddenly taken ill?
- Do you ever feel you should have a plan of action put in place, just in case?
- Do you feel that it would be easier if you had someone to talk to and to help you put a plan together?
If you have answered YES to the above, then you will be glad to know that the Centre now offers a service that can help you create an emergency plan that can give you ‘Peace of Mind’. Lancashire County Council is funding Carers’ Centres across the county to enable them to support carers who wish to take advantage of the service.
PEACE OF MIND 4 CARERS allows you to put a plan into place which will come into force via a 24/7 emergency station should the unexpected happen. Your plan could be as simple as contacting a friend or relative or could be that a care agency would be needed. Should replacement care be required this will be provided for the first 72 hours FREE OF CHARGE.
How to get your plan
Contact Lorraine, who is the Contingency Planning Co-ordinator at the Carers’ Centre, on 01695 711243
What will happen next?
Lorraine will arrange a date to meet with you at a
location of your choice i.e. at home, at the Carers’ Centre or elsewhere.
Lorraine will meet with you and together you will create your plan. A copy of the plan will be held by you and a second copy will be held by the emergency station so that it is immediately available should it ever be needed.
We hope it will never be needed but you will have peace of mind knowing there is something in place – just in case.
